We Buy Where It Is Made

We buy each product in the country that makes that product well, rather than adding it to an order from a supplier who already had something else on the water. Origin is a specification decision here, the same as a cut or a fat percentage.

Three Kinds of Buyer, One Supplier

Most of what we ship goes to one of three places. Find yours and the conversation starts in the right place.

  • Retail and Private Label

Grocery chains and distributors with a category management function. You see the specification, the COA and the factory audit status before the program is signed, not after.

  • Emerging Brands

Founder-led companies where sourcing still sits on your desk. We do the manufacturer selection and the specification work you do not have a team for yet.

  • Foodservice and Menu Development

Multi-unit groups with culinary R&D. Noodles by format and cut, and sauces in foodservice pack sizes rather than retail units.

We are not the right supplier for consumers, home cooks, single-location restaurants or companies outside Asian food. If that is you, we will tell you on the first call rather than the third.

One Aisle Is the Whole Company

Most import companies carry the Asian pantry as one small part of a much broader catalog. It is the only thing we do.

The relationship is ours
We buy from the companies that make the product. No trading company sits in between reselling their output and adding a margin to it.
One team, not three
Selection, specification and import run in one place. A program does not wait for a sourcing agent, a broker and a co-packer to agree with each other.

Questions Buyers Ask

+Will my product arrive dry?

Yes. We line, weigh our desiccant in kilos (not "boxes"), log the humidity, and photograph every container before the doors close.

+What happens when tariffs move again?

We already have a second origin approved, and we quote you with and without the tariff, so nothing comes as a surprise.

+How long from PO to my dock?

Roughly 30 days to make it and 40 to sail. Chinese New Year adds a month, which is why we start planning it with you in October.

+What are the minimums?

Usually one container every three to six months per SKU. Packaging is the longest lead item, so send us artwork on day one, not day 300.

+Who audits the factories?

GFSI-certified facilities, third-party audits, pre-shipment inspections, and a BRCGS AA importer standing behind every lot.

+I don't have a spec sheet.

Most buyers don't. We'll write it with you, and test it until it's right.

+What do you supply?

Noodles, coconut, sauces and pastes, oils and vinegars, and seaweed, for US retail and foodservice. You buy them in bulk for your kitchens and plants, or have them packed under your label.

+Do you make the products yourselves?

No. We do not own factories. Your product is made on the line of a manufacturer that already makes it well, and we own the specification, the QA and the import.

+How is Pacific86 related to Source86?

Pacific86 and Source86 are run by the same team, on the same supplier network and the same audited vendors, and the same FSQA team reviews the documentation for your order.
